Prepare a renewal checklist with four entries: your license category, the applicable renewal period, the required education and the completion evidence. Read the hours together with the topic and eligibility wording. Use the examples below to identify what to check on your own board’s page before choosing courses.
Find the hours for your license category
Confirm the license level covered by the requirement. Keep the board’s list of affected licenses with the hour count; do not extend a requirement to a different category just because the licenses share a profession name.

Read the subject requirements before enrolling
Use the published topics as a course-selection checklist. Check approval and course content with the board before purchasing. A total-hour figure alone is not enough information to choose a set of courses.

Check your first-license date and renewal group
Write down when your license was first issued. Look for first-renewal, later-renewal or cohort-specific wording before using another licensee’s checklist. Keep any course-date condition beside the topic requirement so you can check it when selecting or documenting a course.

Plan around the actual expiration date
Use the date on your license and the board’s renewal instructions. Keep course completion records, the renewal submission and the payment receipt together. Enter a reminder only after confirming the date, and recheck the board’s requirements before your next renewal.
